Leading Bollywood actress Divya Dutta has revealed that she refused to play Farhan Akhtar’s elder sister in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag because she had a crush on the actor.

Divya Dutta played the role of Ashri Kaur, the elder sister of Milkha Singh (Farhan Akhtar) in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Divya was also given several awards for this role.

During an interview with Indian media, Divya Dutta said that ‘Initially I refused to play this role, because I had a huge crush on Farhan at that time, I said why should I be his sister’.

The actress said, ‘On my talk, director Rakesh said that you are an actress and a professional, on which I got confused and said you know that’.

The Badlapur actress further revealed that director Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra explained to her that the story mainly revolves around a brother and sister, hence she accepted the role.

She said that ‘when I came to the set on the first day, I could not recognize Farhan because he looked exactly like Milkha Singh’.

It should be noted that Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was released in 2013 starring Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor and Divya Dutta.
