ISLAMABAD: The Apex Committee has reiterated its commitment not to leave the Afghan people alone in difficult times.
Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the Apex Committee on Afghanistan. Federal Ministers and officials including Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and DG ISI attended.
The Apex Committee was briefed on the progress being made on aid to Afghanistan from Pakistan. The committee was told that Afghanistan was on the brink of starvation and crisis during the severe winter.
Talking at the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan would continue its full support to Afghanistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that cooperation should be extended for the rehabilitation and development of Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister also directed Afghanistan to provide skilled manpower in medical, IT, finance and other fields. He also welcomed the UN appeal for assistance to Afghanistan.
The Apex Committee vowed not to leave Afghanistan alone in difficult times and called on the international community to play its part in helping the Afghan people.
