Moscow (Daily Pakistan Online) A Russian court has ordered Google to restore the blocked YouTube channel of Russia’s Parliament State Duma.
On April 9, 2022, the American tech company that owns YouTube blocked the YouTube channel of the Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament. Google said at the time that the decision was made in compliance with US sanctions against Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.
Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin accused Washington in April of violating rights and freedoms, as well as trying to monopolize information. Earlier this year, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube cracked down on content from Russian state media following pressure from European authorities to crack down on information warfare in Ukraine.
