Regarding the resignations, the Speaker should call and listen to us, PTI members of the National Assembly
Islamabad (92 News) – PTI members of the National Assembly took a big letter regarding the resignations. They say that the speaker should call us and hear about the resignations.
The PTI MLAs approached the Islamabad High Court regarding the resignations. In the petition filed, it is requested that the court should direct the Speaker to fulfill his constitutional responsibility regarding acceptance of resignation. The court ordered the Speaker to summon the petitioners and other 112 members. The Speaker should investigate that those who resigned voluntarily resigned under Article 64.
The petition states that as per law the Speaker cannot entertain the resignations without hearing the petitioners. The election has not been announced yet, the resignations of 123 members have not even been seen together. Therefore, the resignation letter of the petitioners has not been effective.
It is further stated in the application that when the resignation of Member of Assembly Shakur Shad was accepted, he applied. The Speaker accepted the resignation without hearing. On Shakur Shad’s request, the High Court suspended the notification of acceptance of his resignation.
The hearing will be held tomorrow on the request of PTI assembly members. Chief Justice Athar Minullah will hear the application.
