Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was also dismissed by Musrat Jamshed Cheema and her husband Jamshed Cheema.
In the press conference, Jamshed Cheema and Musrat Jamshed Cheema announced to quit politics and PTI.
Musrat Jamshed Cheema said that if I was on a bus, I could have erased the day of May 9 from my life, as my elder son has been a cancer patient, I cannot stay away from him for a long time.
Musrat Jamshed Cheema’s husband Jamshed Cheema said that when I got the news of Imran Khan’s arrest, I arrived in front of Jinnah House, there was no plan to attack Jinnah House, but there was a plan to protest. There should be punishment.
Jamshed Cheema said that senior leadership and Imran Khan are included in the narrative created in the last 13 months, the atmosphere created due to this narrative led to the events of May 9, we also could not control the crowd and there was no peaceful protest. If a political party worker is not peaceful then there is a lack of training, we accept our failure.
Jamshed Cheema further said that the arson during the protest was wrong, it was a failure, the element of violence was added to the protest, now we cannot continue politics.
Musrat Cheema said that if I was in the bus, I could have erased the day of May 9 from my life. After the arrest, Imran Khan was worried about his family, Imran Khan has condemned the events of May 9, we all need to speak about the destruction that has happened in the nation.
Jamshed Cheema and Musrat Jamshed Cheema have been released from Adiala Jail today. Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi canceled the detention orders of Jamshed Cheema and Musrat Jamshed Cheema, after which their release was effected.
It should be remembered that after the arrest of Chairman PTI Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case on May 9, a series of violent protests started in many places across the country, during which miscreants stormed state and military installations.
During the 3-day violent protest, 8 people were killed and dozens were injured, during which state and military properties were also damaged. In order to control the situation in the country, the government of Pakistan suspended the internet for several days.
Later, the government cracked down on miscreants by declaring May 9 as Black Day and decided to prosecute cases under the Army Act.
Since May 9, several members, including many of Imran Khan’s close associates, have announced their departure from the party, not only that, but many activists have blamed several of Imran Khan’s policies for the attacks on military installations.
