According to the World News Agency, an explosion in the mosque of the Ministry of Interior compound in the Afghan capital caused a stampede and the windows of cars parked nearby were broken. The nature of the explosion has yet to be determined.

In the mosque where the explosion took place, important officials of the Ministry of Interior and citizens who come for work also offer prayers. At the time of the explosion, a large number of worshipers were present in the mosque.

Taliban officials surrounded the office of the Ministry of Interior immediately after the blast. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where 4 people were confirmed dead.

25 injured have also been brought to the hospital, of which 7 have been admitted to the intensive care ward. There is a chance in increase of casualties.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Daesh Khorasan has been involved in such attacks since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan.
