Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab said that steps are being taken to prevent access to the markets of animals infected with Lampi virus.

In a special transmission of Geo News, Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab said that every animal brought to the market on Super Highway Karachi is checked and only healthy animals are allowed to enter the market.

He said that it is wrong to set up an animal market on someone’s private land. If someone is forcibly setting up a market in someone’s place, then give information. Action will be taken.

Murtaza Wahab said that Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has given NOC to 2 major cattle markets, water and other arrangements in cattle markets are the responsibility of the organizers, not KMC, The District Municipal Corporations (DMCs) are in charge.

Murtaza Wahab said that doctors have said that the meat of the animal is not affected by the Lumpy virus.

In addition, DG Livestock Sindh Dr. Nazir Hussain claims that the Lumpy skin disease in the province has been largely controlled, only 17 cases of Lampi were reported yesterday.
