Dust storm in Iraq, airports closed, schools closed


2,000 people hospitalized with respiratory problems in Iraq / photo social media

A dust storm in Iraq engulfed everything, leaving darkness on all sides.

Houses, cars and building roofs were covered in sand in light of the storm, while airports in Baghdad, Najaf and Sulaymaniyah were closed to flights due to reduced visibility,media reported.

Government offices in seven provinces, including Baghdad, and schools across the country were closed due to the situation caused by the dust storm.

Around 2,000 people across Iraq have been hospitalized with breathing difficulties.

This is Iraq’s eighth dust storm since mid-April.
