Using daily supplements may be beneficial for people with digestive problems, the researchers said.
Likewise, daily vitamin D supplementation may be beneficial for individuals with limited exposure to sunlight, but should be consulted with a physician.
The researchers said that although multivitamins are neither beneficial nor harmful, people are better off spending their money on healthier foods.
The results of this study were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
