Announcement of civil awards for various personalities associated with sports on Independence Day

On Independence Day, the government of Pakistan has announced civil awards for various personalities associated with sports.

Pakistan’s squash legend Jahangir Khan has been awarded Nishan Imtiaz. Commonwealth Games gold medalists Arshad Nadeem and Nooh Dastgir Butt have been nominated for the Presidential Award for Good Performance.

According to the list released by the Government of Pakistan, the people who have been nominated for various civil awards on Independence Day include sports figures.

Nishan Imtiaz has been announced for squash legend Jahangir Khan. Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam and Kabaddi Federation chief Chaudhry Shafi have been nominated for Satara Imtiaz, while Pakistan women cricket team captain Basmea Maruf and Kabaddi player Shafiq Chishti have been announced for Imtiaz medal.

Commonwealth Games gold medalists Arshad Nadeem and Nooh Dastgir Butt have been nominated for the Presidential Award for Good Performance.

Mountaineer Sarbaz Ali, mountaineer Little Kareem, snooker player Ahsan Ramzan, karateka Shahida, skiing player Amina Wali, Masood Jan of blind cricket team, Irfan Mehsud in martial arts will also get pride of performance.

The official award ceremony for these players will be held on March 23, 2023.
