A suspected Congo virus patient has died in Rahim Yar Khan.

A spokesman for Sheikh Zayed Hospital said three more suspected Congo virus patients were being treated at the hospital.

On the other hand, the health department said that samples of patients have been sent to the National Institutes of Health for confirmation of the virus.

What is Congo virus?

Congo virus is a disease that is transmitted from animals to humans. Congo virus is found in the skin of various animals such as sheep, goats, cows, buffaloes and camels.

If a person’s hand gets cut during slaughtering an animal infected with the Congo virus, the virus enters the human bloodstream.


Congo virus patients have a high fever and have headache, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weakness, blisters in the mouth and swelling in the eyes.


A long-sleeved shirt should be used to protect against Congo virus.
