Karachi: It has been 39 years since Pakistan’s legendary actor Waheed Murad left his fans.
Waheed Murad’s first film was ‘Hira Aur Pathar’, but the film ‘Arman’, which ran for 75 consecutive weeks on the silver screen, took Waheed Murad to the top.
After Dilip Kumar, Waheed Murad was the only hero in the subcontinent whose hair style and costumes were imitated.
Waheed Murad was born on October 2, 1938 at the house of filmmaker Nisar Murad and completed his master’s degree in English literature from Karachi University.
At one point, actor Waheed Murad teamed up with director Pervez Malik, which also included lyricist Masroor Anwar, composer Sohail Rana and singer Ahmad Rushdie, setting records for successful films.
Waheed Murad has shown the essence of acting in 124 films including Duraha, Andalib, Jab Jab Phul Khale, Anniwat, Anjuman, Jahan Tum Teh Hum Phool Mere Gulshan Ka, Deor Bhabhi.
