With the change of weather, dengue virus started to rise in some districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Health Department, 10 cases have been reported in three districts of the province so far, 8 in Mardan, one each in Bajaur and Bannu.

The health department says that the provision of funds for dengue action plan is delayed, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has asked the government for Rs 35 crore funds for dengue prevention, which has not been received yet.

In case of non-availability of funds, the health department has expressed fear of more cases of dengue in the province this year.

According to the health department, last year also the funds were less for the elimination of dengue, the availability of funds helps to control dengue.
