People are making various speculations about oil coming to Pakistan from Russia, but the most important question that is on the mind of every Pakistani is what effect will the imported oil have on the high fuel prices?

In a recent interview given to Voice of America, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal answered this question.

When asked if the price of petrol, which has reached a record high of Rs 282 per liter and is currently Rs 272 per litre, will it be reduced by Rs 100 after the arrival of Russian oil in Pakistan? ?

The Federal Minister replied in the negative and denied all these speculations.

Ahsan Iqbal said in an interview that ‘up to 100 rupees will not make such a big difference, but the price will definitely be lower if a sufficient amount of Russian oil comes to Pakistan, initially a small amount is coming to Pakistan’.

He said that after six months or a year when more oil will come from Russia, it will definitely help to reduce the price of petrol in Pakistan.

It should be noted that talks between Pakistan and Russia on the oil deal were going on for the past several months, but the deal was finalized in April.

Minister of State for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik said last month that the first shipment of Russian oil is likely to arrive in Karachi at the end of May, adding that if the first shipment arrives easily, Pakistan will import 100,000 barrels of Russian crude oil per day. Will try to.
