While the city of Sables-d’Olonne announces its bath of Givrés for January 2, that of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie scheduled for December 26, is canceled.
With more than 400 registered to date and therefore around 1,000 bathers expected and several thousand spectators and given the spread of the Covid, the association Les Bains de SGXV, organizer of this great event (the second in France with 1,800 bathers two years ago), decided, in consultation with the town hall of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, to cancel, with much disappointment, this magnificent event awaited by thousands of people.
This exceptional atmosphere, these incredible photos, this good-natured atmosphere, this letting go so rare, this is what the participants are looking for, this is what the spectators want to see and this is what the organizers want to give.
These images, this gathering are not compatible with the recommended health precautions aimed at limiting the spread of the virus, it is therefore not reasonable to maintain this event, the reason for which is the small “unreason” of the bathers.
It is therefore with a heavy heart that the organizers are canceling the 2021 edition.
