According to reports, about 100 members of the US military have participated in prohibited extremist activities.
A report issued by the Pentagon on Friday stated that more than 100 U.S. troops have participated in some form of “banned extremist activities” in the past year.
After the report was released, the Pentagon issued new instructions to military personnel.
The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, ordered a review of the Department of Defense’s counter-terrorism policy in February 2021.
The review was conducted after supporters of former President Donald Trump disclosed the involvement of dozens of former U.S. military personnel in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
