Eighty-five percent of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s population is rural
According to the World Bank report and the concept clearance paper issued by the government, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 21,679 km of road network, of which 41% is in poor condition and 30% is in disrepair.
According to the report, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has assets worth 2. 2.4 billion and if the dilapidated condition of roads is not removed, it will cause a loss of کروڑ 274 million. About کروڑ 600 million was needed for road development in the last five years, but nevertheless spent 9 93 million.
The report states that 27.6 per cent children between the ages of 6 and 16 are out of school in the newly merged districts. Eighty-five percent of the rural population in the province has children in schools and women in hospitals. About 45% of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have to travel an hour to get to school and hospital and due to untimely arrival at the hospital death rate is increasing and 45 out of 1000 children die before the age of one month. ۔
It was also informed that the project for construction of rural roads with the help of World Bank will be completed in 5 years for which the World Bank is ready to provide Rs. 51 billion. Will The project will build roads and highways and will benefit 8.7 million people in 23 districts if the funds are approved.
