The United Arab Emirates has made it mandatory for foreigners to include family names in their passports.
UAE immigration authorities have issued a new travel advisory for travelers, which states that travelers with a single name in their passports will not be allowed to immigrate.
The travel advisory clarifies that passengers arriving in the United Arab Emirates from November 21 will be required to write their surname along with their name in the passport, otherwise they will not be allowed to enter.
Officials have instructed the airlines management to issue tickets to the passengers only after seeing the full and correct name on the passport.
