The United States has removed all negative references to Pakistan’s role in the Taliban’s occupation of Kabul from the National Security Act of 2022.
The earlier text of the National Security Law mentioned Pakistan’s participation in the Taliban’s occupation of Kabul, but it was not mentioned in the revised bill. Other references to Pakistan have also been deleted from the new bill.
The U.S. House of Representatives removed all negative references to Pakistan’s role in the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in the revised edition of the National Security Act of 2022.
The name of Pakistan has been removed from the revised edition of the National Security Act of the United States of 2022, and the text has been changed to “any country near Afghanistan”.
Another reference in the original text seeking to explain Pakistan’s role in the Taliban’s occupation of Kabul has also been omitted. However, while preserving the conditions for investigating the reasons and effects of the U.S. withdrawal, the bill proposes to establish a committee to investigate the role of Afghanistan’s immediate and distant neighbors.
