The Taliban government claimed that it prepared the national budget for the 2022 fiscal year without any foreign aid.

According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), the Afghan Ministry of Finance claimed that it drafted the 2022 national budget for the first time in two decades without foreign aid.

According to Agence France-Presse, Afghan Finance Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Wali Haqmal did not specify the size of the budget, but said it would submit it to the Cabinet for approval before it is announced.

According to the news agency, a spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Finance said that we are working hard to prepare this budget from our national income, and we believe we can do it.

What needs to be pointed out is that after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in August this year, foreign aid ceased, and Western countries did not allow the Taliban to access billions of dollars in overseas assets.

In addition, the 2021 budget was prepared by the former Afghan government under the guidance of the International Monetary Fund.
