Tharparkar (Daily Pakistan Online) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Thar Coal Block 2 expansion project of Sindh Engro Coal Mines Company, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thar Coal project.
According to private TV “Hum News”, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the expansion project of Tharcoal Block to Sindh Engro Coal Mines Company. Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah while briefing the Prime Minister on the Thar Coal project said that Benazir Bhutto laid the foundation for energizing the industrial wheel from Thar coal, wider road network, bridges and airport for power generation from Thar coal. was needed, the government of Sindh spent 750 million dollars and built the infrastructure of Thar after hard work, the government of Sindh and Engro extracted coal from Block 2 in 2009 under a public-private partnership. The percentage share belongs to Zyngro.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah told Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that work on a 660 megawatt coal-fired power plant has been started. By the end of this year, the power generation capacity of the power project will increase to 2640 megawatts by the year 2030. By December, Thar Coal Block One will generate 1320 megawatts of electricity, and 1.2 billion dollars of foreign exchange will be saved.
The Chief Minister of Sindh said that when the power plants running on imported coal run on Thar coal, foreign exchange worth 1.5 billion dollars will be saved, when cement factories run on Thar coal, then the country’s foreign exchange will be saved 2 billion dollars.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met the women drivers driving dumpers and trucks in Thar. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Sindh praised the hard work, dedication and passion of the women of Thar.
