Inflation continues to rise in the country and on a weekly basis also inflation increased by 0.48%.
The Bureau of Statistics released the weekly inflation data, according to which the overall rate of inflation in the country was recorded at 30.16 percent.
The Statistics Institute said that food and drink items became more expensive in recent weeks and 19 essential items recorded an increase in prices.
In the recent week, the price of sugar increased by one rupee 20 paise per kg, while the price of eggs increased by Rs 21 50 paise per dozen, live chicken by Rs 12 60 paise and onion price increased by Rs 4 48 paise per kg.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the price of potato has increased by Rs.194 paisa per kg, in addition to the increase in prices of other items including milk, curd, beef, mutton, dal, tea leaf, garlic and rice.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, 9 essential commodities have become cheaper in the recent week, gram dal by Rs 3 93 paise per kg, domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 9 74 paise while a bag of dal mash, dal mung, ghee and flour also became cheaper.
The Bureau of Statistics said that prices of 23 essential commodities remained stable in a week.
