ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online): The 17th Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries hosted by Pakistan will be held in Islamabad today.
Officials from Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Bosnia, Malaysia, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan arrived in Islamabad to attend the meeting. Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki has also arrived in Islamabad from Kabul, in addition to OIC Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General. The Secretary Generals will also be present. This extraordinary meeting will be held in the National Assembly Hall of the Parliament House for which the hall has been decorated with flags of Muslim countries. The inaugural session of the meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. In addition, OIC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will address, while Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will end the meeting at 6:30 pm. The Secretary-General of the OIC will hold a joint press conference. Due to this extraordinary meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs, a local holiday has been observed in Islamabad on Saturday and Monday.
Fool-proof security arrangements have been made in the federal capital on the occasion of the extraordinary meeting of the OIC. Meanwhile, the first three stations of the metro bus service in Islamabad and all hiking tracks will remain closed. During the meeting, the highway will be closed for traffic.
