Sindh Governor Kamran Tesuri and Deputy Speaker of New York Assembly met in New York, decided to establish a “sister state” relationship between Sindh and New York, and discussed the issues of bringing the people of both countries closer.
Speaking at the ceremony organized by the American Pakistan Public Affairs Committee to establish a “sister state” relationship between Sindh and New York, Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos said that the best way for strong relations and agreements with any country in the United States. To establish the relationship of ‘Sister State’ and ‘Sister Cities’, Governor Sindh encouraged that the elected members meet each other and increase the exchange of delegations as this will bring us closer together.
He said that there is a significant number of Pakistanis living here, he has extensive experience in establishing such a relationship and he will put it to work and present a resolution for Sindh in the state assembly, to give the status of ‘New York, Sindh sister state’. Effort will be their top priority.
In his address on this occasion, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesuri said that I am on a private visit, I was planning to meet the community, but at the last moment I learned that the Deputy Speaker will also be present in the meeting, so I will not speak in an official capacity. will
Answering the questions of some participants on the situation in Pakistan, Governor Sindh said that at this time, the country does not need donations of money, but investment, so that the country can be saved by supporting the ruined economy. Invest in areas like education, health and technology to put the next generation firmly on its feet.
On this occasion, Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, the founding chairman of the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee, said in his address that for the past seventy-five years, the relations between Pakistan and the United States have been based on security and on the occasions of various wars in the world, more warmth is seen between them. Yes, now is the time to develop these relations on social and economic basis, not only on security, so that its fruits can reach the people of Pakistan.
He said that if Sindh and Punjab get the status of ‘sister state’, extensive cooperation can be established in the field of education, health and research, students will get stipends and students will also be able to benefit from the exchange program of universities. While this relationship will also give Sindh an opportunity to improve its capabilities to deal with climate change and natural disasters.
Sensing the presence of Sindh Governor in Washington, I told the politically very influential Dr. Ijaz that if possible, try to establish a sister state relationship between New York and Sindh on this occasion. It was decided in the meeting that the American delegation will soon visit Pakistan to give the status of ‘sister state’ to Sindh and New York.
