New York (Daily Pakistan Online) The feature of sending satellite emergency SOC messages, recently introduced in the iPhone 14 series of LG, saved the life of a person trapped in snow.
According to media reports, at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd, Alaska State Troopers received a call from a man who was stuck in the snow on his way to a location. With no signal found, the man’s iPhone had a satellite connectivity feature, using which the man sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) notification.
Apple’s Emergency Response Center worked with local authorities to make it possible for rescue teams to reach the man, who officials say would have been lost in the area for days if the man’s cellphone hadn’t had the feature.
It should be noted that according to the company, this service will be available for free for two years, after which a fee will be charged, but there is no information about how much this fee will be.
The feature is currently available in Canada and the US, but it is not yet known when it will be available in other countries.
