The final decision on winter vacation in educational institutions will be taken in a day or two, said Shafqat Mahmood
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Education and the National Command and Operations Center could not come up with a single page on the issue of winter vacations in educational institutions. Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood says a final decision on the holiday will be made in a day or two. The Lahore High Court sought reply on non-closure of educational institutions due to smog.
The cold is getting worse, the fog is getting better. In such a situation, students, parents and teachers are asking when there will be winter holidays in educational institutions but the government has not yet made a final decision.
When the Ministry of Education proposed holidays in the last week of December and early January, the NCOC postponed the holidays to complete the ongoing vaccination campaign in educational institutions. Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood says the holidays will be less this year despite the cold weather.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reply from the government till tomorrow on non-closure of schools in Punjab from December 20 due to smog. The court ruled that the smog situation in Lahore and Central Punjab was extremely dangerous and could not be taken lightly.
