In the flood-affected areas of Sindh’s Dadu district, the termite attack became a disaster for the victims.
Due to the continuous presence of water in the flood affected areas of Jamshoro and Dadu districts, a large number of termites came out.
During the last 2 months, in the flood affected areas of Jamshoro and Dadu districts, non-drainage and continuous presence of flood water has started having adverse effects on rural life, including the appearance of top termites.
According to the flood victims, the movement of termites has become a double whammy as the termites have started licking and destroying the mud houses and timber in the affected rural areas.
Termites have licked the wooden doors and windows installed in hundreds of mud houses and houses and made them useless due to which the rural economy is suffering a loss of lakhs of rupees.
The flood victims have demanded the Sindh government to organize a special spraying to eradicate the termites.
