Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League-N and Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has said that the Supreme Court should reconsider the decision to hold elections for the Provincial Assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Ahsan Iqbal said in an interview given to the American broadcasting organization that the decision was given in haste, the country will have to pay a heavy price, it will create a permanent political crisis in the country.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the Election Commission should also review the decision of the election in Punjab and KP.

Ahsan Iqbal said that we are always ready for elections, Imran Khan did not break the Punjab and KP Assembly under democratic thinking, he will install the government in Punjab 6 months before the National Assembly elections, so that means the National Assembly. Elections are forever under the control of the Punjab government, whoever is ruling Punjab will use the powers to influence the election of the National Assembly.

He said that this would be a dangerous move because it would create a sense of deprivation in other provinces and shake the foundations of the federation.
