Peshawar (Daily Pakistan Online) A successful candidate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) was shot dead while celebrating his victory in the local body elections.
The incident took place in Sodizai area of Peshawar where Zakaria Khan, who had won the general seat of the village council on a JUI ticket, was firing in the air. Zakaria Khan was shot and seriously injured during the firing and was rushed to a hospital where doctors confirmed his death. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Police sources said that Zakaria Khan’s family members have refused to take legal action and register a case.
