Karachi: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce held the State Bank responsible for the non-availability of medicines and shortage of pharmaceutical raw materials in the country.
President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Idris said while talking to journalists on the sidelines of the Pharma Asia Exhibition on Tuesday that the steps taken by the State Bank at this time are enough to destroy Pakistan.
He said that for the last 4 months the businessmen are suffering from severe problems, that is why we were against the independence of the State Bank and what the State Bank is doing today is enough to destroy Pakistan.
On this occasion, Chairman of Businessmen’s Group and former president of Karachi Chamber, Zubair Motiwala said that State Bank officials call for meetings every day, but they are aware of the lack of technical manpower, not only the lack of raw materials. Rather, all industries, including auto parts, are facing shortage of raw materials.
He said that not only the pharma sector but the state bank is responsible for the shortage of raw materials in every industrial sector, there is a lot of potential in pharma exports, the state bankers call for meetings but nothing comes out, he said that two Bar lists have been provided but there is shortage of technical people in State Bank.
