ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed the defeat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local body elections as the reason for selection of wrong candidates.
In a statement issued on Twitter, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the PTI had made mistakes in the first phase of the Pakhtunkhwa local body elections and would suffer the consequences.
“The selection of the wrong candidates was a key factor. From now on, I will personally oversee the movement’s strategy for local body elections across the country, including the second phase in Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that the PTI would emerge with more strength.
It should be noted that in the first phase of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local body elections, PTI did not get any mayorship out of four city councils while JUI-F won more seats in the elections.
