State Bank of Pakistan has announced the launch of Asan Mobile Scheme from December 13.
According to a statement issued by the SBP, the scheme has been developed under the National and Financial Inclusion Strategy, which aims to facilitate remote accounts in branchless banking.
SBP says that under this scheme, consumers will not only be able to open their own accounts but also operate them without having to go to banks. In addition, a simple mobile account will play an important role for users who do not have access to the Internet and for low-income people. In addition, a simple account is a great way to bring women and consumers into the field.
The procedure was followed by SBP, Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), 13 branchless banking facilitators, all cellular phone operators (CMOs) and virtual remittance gateways. Developed in collaboration with VRG).
Branchless banking providers and cellular phone operators are working together to provide an interactive platform for easy mobile accounts so that anyone can open a Pakistani bank account.
