Islamabad: The Public Accounts (PAC) sub-committee has sought details of all the cases in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) expressing concern over the court cases worth billions of rupees pending for many years.
The PAC sub-committee has directed the cabinet division to consult with the finance ministry to implement internal audit system in the autonomous bodies and the division.
A meeting was held in Parliament House under the chairmanship of Convener Nawab Sher Wasir. The audit objections of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Frequency Allocation Board, a subsidiary of the Cabinet Division, for the financial years 2017-18 and 2018-19 were reviewed.
The convener committee expressed concern over the court cases of more than 31 billion rupees during the financial year and said that billions of rupees of the government are not received due to the cases, which causes loss to the exchequer.
