Former Chief Justice of Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Court Rana Shamim’s original statement has been received by the Islamabad High Court.
According to judicial sources, the courier registrar from London received the Islamabad High Court on which the registrar affixed another seal to the sealed envelope.
Judicial sources said that the envelope of affidavit of Rana Shamim will be opened during the hearing next Monday.
Judicial sources said that Confidential has been written on the envelope, which can only be opened by the Chief Justice.
It may be recalled that a case related to affidavit of former Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Justice Rana Shamim is being heard in the Islamabad High Court.
What did Rana Shamim say in his affidavit?
Former Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Justice Rana M. Shamim has said in his affidavit that he was a witness to the incident when the then Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar had ordered a High Court judge that before the 2018 general elections. Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz should not be released on bail.
Gilgit-Baltistan’s most senior judge has written in his affidavit quoting Pakistan’s most senior judge that “Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz Sharif should remain in jail till the general elections are held.
