Queen Elizabeth’s coffin was lowered into the Royal Vault of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the Royal Vault is the final resting place of many past British monarchs.
Prince Philip, the husband of the Queen of Great Britain, is also buried in the royal vault. The royal mourning has officially ended after Queen Elizabeth’s coffin was lowered into the royal vault, but the royal vault is not the final resting place of Queen Elizabeth. There will be a private service included.
After the private service, Queen Elizabeth’s coffin will be moved to the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
Queen Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, and mother are buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
Prince Philip’s coffin will also be moved from St George’s Chapel to the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II was held at Westminster Abbey. About 500 dignitaries from all over the world including America, Canada, France participated in the Queen’s last rites, including the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.
Former British Prime Ministers John Major, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson also attended the funeral.
