Khanewal (Daily Pakistan Online) By-election will be held today in PP-206 Khanewal.
The Election Commission has completed the arrangements for the by-polls. Rangers along with the police will provide security to the presiding officers. The security personnel will be with the polling staff till the completion of the election process. A total of 183 polling stations have been set up in the constituency. Have gone Presiding officers will keep their location on mobile while taking Form 45 picture on polling day. Presiding officers will take Form 45 picture in front of polling agents.
It should be noted that this seat was vacated due to the death of PML-N member Punjab Assembly Nishat Daha. The PML-N had won this seat by a margin of 3,546 votes. The PML-N has given tickets to Rana Muhammad Saleem, who is contesting the 2018 elections on behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), while PTI has given tickets to Noorin Nishat Daha, daughter of former PML-N member Nishat Daha. Mir Wasiq Sarjis Haider of Pakistan Peoples Party and Sheikh Muhammad Akmal of Tehreek-e-Labeek are also contesting in this constituency.
