Polling for the supplementary local body elections will be held today in 63 seats of 24 districts of Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad, the polling process will continue uninterrupted from 8 am to 5 pm.
Polling will be held on 26 seats of 11 UCs and 15 wards in 7 districts of Karachi, while polling will be held on 37 seats in other 17 districts.
On this occasion, more than 7,000 police personnel will perform security duties in Karachi, while 292 polling stations in 24 districts have been declared as highly sensitive and 157 as sensitive.
In Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Nawabshah, Sanghar, Matiari, Tindwalhiar and Jamshoro, polling will be held in one seat each while in Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Badin and Sajawal two seats each will be polled.
Three seats each in Nowshahrofiroz, Dadu and Thatta, while ten seats will be voted in Hyderabad in connection with the by-elections.
It should be remembered that the elections could not be held due to the death of candidates for the seats of Member District Council, Chairman, Vice Chairman and General Council.
