At first glance, the neighborhood in which is located rue de Jarcy is relatively calm. But in the middle of the week, when night falls and the cold reigns, the inhabitants of Quincy-sous-Sénart (Essonne) are still outside to admire the Christmas decorations that light up some houses.

Decorations and Santa Claus

In one of them, located at 84 bis, is Nicolas Robinet. Established since 2009 with his family, this former Seine-et-Marnais has decorated the entire exterior of his house.

To access it, visitors go through a small alley filled with other characters from the end of the year celebrations. Once at the end, the eyes are greeted by a light show.

“In front of the house, I created a North Pole space with lots of small subjects,” says Nicolas Robinet. Opposite, you have a nativity scene and a scene where I put myself when I am disguised as Santa Claus. “

“It’s wonderful for children”

On weekdays and weekends, this small illuminated village is open to passers-by, in the morning between 6.30 am and 8 am and in the evening between 5.30 pm and 10.30 pm. “We close the doors at 8 pm, but if people want to go home, we can open it to them, ”reassures Nicolas Robinet.

For him, Christmas decorations are a real passion. In his former home, the latter was already decorating his balcony until he even won the Lumière d’Or prize in Seine-et-Marne.

“I find it really beautiful. Every day, I am happy to give people a little happiness. It’s wonderful for children, ”he rejoices. On the strength of its success, its decorations attract several hundred people every weekend.

THE street of illuminated houses

Meet at 84 bis rue de Jarcy, in Quincy-sous-Sénart, to be amazed. Unless … If you dare to take a few more steps towards 118 rue de Jarcy and its surrounding houses, you will once again be struck by the magic of Christmas.

A house has been covered with colored lights since the 1980s. Its occupants, a couple aged 73 and 79, decorate each year, attracting more and more passers-by.
