Violation of anti-corruption code, PCB suspends cricketer

Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended Khyber Pakhtunkhwa left-arm spinner Asif Afridi for violating the anti-corruption code.

On behalf of PCB, it has been said that Asif Afridi has been found guilty of violating clause 4.7.1 of the Code of Conduct. In addition, he has twice violated Article 2.4 of the Code of Conduct for which he has been temporarily suspended. This provision of the Code of Conduct deals with not informing the PCB Vigilance and Security Department in time in case of contact by the bookies and covering up the matter.

According to PCB, Asif Afridi will remain suspended from all forms of cricket until the investigation is completed.
