ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online): The operation of Pakistan Refinery Limited has been stopped and Pakistan Stock Exchange has also been informed about this.

According to private TV Geo News, the capacity of Pakistan Refinery is 7.5 million liters per day. The refinery said in a letter that the power plants had stopped purchasing furnace oil, which had caused oil stocks to overflow. Pakistan refinery is being temporarily closed due to operational shortage.

The letter further said that Pakistan Refinery Limited would be kept closed till the situation improves. Industry sources said that if the refinery had been run further due to the suspension of purchase of furnace oil, a lot of oil would have been wasted.
