Another case of South African variant of Corona virus Omi Kroon has come to light in Karachi.
According to Health Department sources, a 35-year-old man infected with Omi Crown virus had arrived in Karachi from UK. Random checks confirmed first corona and later Omi Crown in the person concerned. Moved
Sources said that after genome sequencing in the affected person, Omi Kroon was confirmed.
The government has imposed travel bans on Category C and Omi Crown countries, but the UK does not fall into Category C.
Omi Crown victim escapes quarantine
Health department sources also said that the person affected by Omi Kroon escaped from the hotel quarantine. It is the responsibility of the Home Department, police and the concerned DC to provide security on the quarantine.
According to sources, 19 people affected by Corona are still in quarantine in the private hotel. The affected people are in quarantine in the private hotel but they have not been provided security yet.
Health department sources also said that genome sequencing of 5 out of 19 people infected with Corona is yet to take place, adding that 38 people have so far escaped quarantine due to lack of security.
