Meeting of Japanese Ambassador with the Chief of Army Staff discussed the situation in Afghanistan, including bilateral relations
Rawalpindi (92 News) Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was received by Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro. According to ISPR, bilateral relations, issues of mutual interest and the situation in Afghanistan were discussed.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that Pakistan values Japan’s role in global and regional affairs. He said that he wanted to expand bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan.
The commander-in-chief said that Afghanistan needed to set up an institutional mechanism on an emergency basis. Immediate steps are needed to save Afghanistan from a humanitarian crisis. The Army Chief emphasized the importance of peace and reconciliation efforts in Afghanistan.
Army Chief General Bajwa said that peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute was necessary for stability in South Asia. Pakistan wants cordial relations with all its neighbors for regional peace and prosperity.
On the occasion, Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro appreciated Pakistan’s role in the Afghan situation and regional stability. He said that he was committed to further expand diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
