KE was selected finalist in three categories this year. For the first time since 1999, a Pakistani company has won the award, which has been held annually.
This prestigious award was given to Electric in recognition of its efforts to empower women and improve society through its lighting program.
KE launched the program with a simple but powerful goal to make women financially self-sufficient. To that end, he was sent as an ambassador to residential areas to educate residents about their safety, the dangers of power theft, and energy security.
K Electric taught these women how to ride a motorcycle as well as how to take care of it. Along with training in martial arts and self-defense, he also equipped them with various skills. These women also became the first certified female electricians in Pakistan.
