Karachi: Due to the economic crisis, during the first 10 months of the current financial year, the cement consumption has also declined due to a continuous decrease in its sales and exports.
According to All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, due to the different situation of the country’s economy, the construction activities are affected and the consumption of cement is also being affected and it is continuously decreasing.
According to the data released by All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, during the first 10 months of this financial year, the total sales of cement decreased by 17.50% to 36.551 million tons.
During the period July-April 2023, the total export of cement also recorded a decline and the total volume of exports decreased by 27.99% to 3.456 million tonnes.
According to the association, the overall sale of cents in April was down 16.55% to 2.951 million tonnes, while local consumption volume was down 25% to 2.531 million tonnes.
In April 2023, the export of cement was 4 lakh 20 thousand 677 tons with an increase of 168.61 percent compared to April 2022.
