Iran became a permanent member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in which the heads of the member countries participated.
In the recent meeting, Iran was granted permanent membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, after which the number of permanent member countries of the organization increased to 9.
Apart from this, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have also been given the status of dialogue partners of the cooperation organization.
It should be noted that the permanent members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization include China, India, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Iran.
