The inflation rate in the country increased by 2.4% in the month of April.
The Bureau of Statistics released the monthly inflation data, according to which the monthly inflation reached 36.42 percent in April.
According to the Institute of Statistics, the inflation rate of food and drink was recorded at 52.2% in April, the rate of inflation in rural areas was at a record level of 40.7% in April.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the inflation rate from July 2022 to April 2023 was 28.23 percent, in April, inflation increased by 2 percent in cities, while it increased by 2.97 percent in villages.
Statistics Institute says that in April, potato became expensive by 26.88%, flour by 25.8%, tomato by 19.3% and sugar by 18.8%.
Apart from this, the price of fruits increased by 10.1%, eggs by 9.8%, vegetables by 9.3%, and wheat by 4.47% in one month.
In April, textbooks became expensive by 19.3%, stationery by 10.15%. On an annual basis, cigarettes became expensive by 159.8%, tea by 108.76%, and flour by 106.7%.
According to the Institute of Statistics, wheat became expensive by 103.52% and eggs by 100.8% in one year. In one year, auto parts became expensive by 42.5%, vehicles by 41.5%, household goods by 40.94%.
On an annual basis, construction materials increased by 37.23%, wedding hall charges by 32.8%, electricity charges by 30.84% in a year.
