ISLAMABAD: The rate of return on National Savings Schemes has been increased.
The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification to increase the rate of return on National Savings Schemes with effect from December 10.
According to the notification, the interest rate on pensioners account has been increased from 11.04 to 12.96 per cent, on welfare savings account from 11.04 to 12.96 per cent and on regular income account from 8.76 to 10.80 per cent.
In addition, the rate of return on Savings Account has been increased from 5.50% to 7.25%, on Special Savings Accounts from 8.20% to 10.60%, on Defense Savings and Certificates from 9.37% to 10.98%.
