Talking to media persons, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Azad Kashmir and Senior Most Minister said that OIC and other international forums should pay attention to the situation in Kashmir as well as Afghanistan. The unanimous approval of the UN Declaration of the Right to Self-Determination of Nations is a ray of hope for Kashmiris. Kashmiris call on UN to implement its own resolutions. Resolving the Kashmir issue is a matter of time and circumstances for the establishment of lasting peace in the region. If the Kashmir issue is not resolved then the clouds of war will continue to hover in the region. He said that Kashmiri people have been sacrificing for their right to self-determination for more than seven decades. The right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination is internationally recognized and there are UN Security Council resolutions which require Kashmiri implementation. He said that 72 countries from all over the world have supported the UN resolution on the right to self-determination, which clearly includes the right to self-determination of all people under foreign occupation. Including the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir, the passage of this resolution has given new hope to Kashmiris. He said that the approval of this resolution was a diplomatic achievement of Pakistan.
