Great increase is expected. According to the website Pro Pakistani, sources said that 17% sales tax on computers, laptops and notebooks has been proposed for the mini budget.
The local supply and import of these products was still tax-exempt. According to the report, if the proposal is approved, the exemption granted to these products in the Sales Tax Act 1990 will expire in the Finance Bill 2021, after which a standard sales tax of 17% will be imposed on all computer related products.
