Rawalpindi (Daily Pakistan Online): Former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) General (retd) Shamim Alam Khan has passed away. His funeral will be held in Rawalpindi tomorrow.
It should be noted that General (retd) Shamim Alam Khan had 9 brothers and all the brothers have served in the Armed Forces of Pakistan. His father Mehboob Alam Khan was a survey supervisor in United India. His 9 sons joined the Armed Forces of Pakistan and showed the essence of bravery in the wars of 1965 and 1971 and earned many good names and honors. He gave his life for the sanctity of the homeland in the 1971 war.
The nine brothers were identified as Brigadier Zahir Alam Khan, Colonel Feroz Alam Khan, Squadron Leader Shoaib Alam Khan, General Shamim Alam Khan, Vice Admiral Shimon Alam Khan, Wing Commander Aftab Alam Khan, Flight Officer Mushtaq Alam Khan, Captain Ijaz Alam Khan and Lieutenant General. Javed was Alam Khan.
One of them, Wing Commander Aftab Alam Khan, was awarded the Star of Courage for his bravery in the 1965 war, but he refused, saying that he had joined the army only to fulfill his duty.
